Specific Item Free Shipping Rule?

I have a site where most of my product follow shipping rules based on the a minimum value, and then % of retail price based on the state they want to ship to. I now have 1 product I need to apply free shipping to for the lower 48... It is possible that customers would buy this new item as well as other products based on the other calculations at the same time. Two questions:



1) Can eJunkie do an item specific "Free Shipping Rule" that supersedes existing shipping rules?

2) If so, can this item be sold in the same shopping cart as others set for different rules?



If no, any workarounds...?

You would not be able to setup a product specific shipping rule. You can setup a discount to allow one product to have free shipping, however it would not be limited to the contiguous states.

I do understand that, however when I go to do that the system does not allow me to apply a discount or % discount to shipping. In fact, it only allows a flat discount off the product. I assume this is due to my other shipping rules I have in place. I have about 40 other shipping rules. The flat discount dos not solve this issue because I have different amounts I charge for shipping to each state on our other products.



Any other options?

I now see the error of my ways... I am now using a "cart level" discount code to do what I need to do. Not ideal as a customer could use this code for products that don't qualify but it is a work around that is okay for now. Would still love an items specific shipping rule however... Thanks
